Traditional college is built around a question: what will you do? It sorts students into majors and careers. Beyond U is built around an earlier question: who will you be?

Our students are young adults who want more than a credential. They read closely, make things with their hands, serve their community, spend time outdoors, and learn to think and speak for themselves. They do this in a small group, guided by mentors who know them by name.

The work is demanding and personal. We care less about what students can recite and more about how they live: their character, their judgment, their relationships, and their sense of purpose. A person who knows who they are can decide what to do, and can change course when life requires it.
